Obituary for
Dennis Wesley Finnell
Dennis Finnell, 62, of Greeley passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Greeley. He was born August 16, 1955 in Canyonville, Oregon to Wesley Franklyn and Wanda Elizabeth (Wagler) Finnell. He spent his childhood in Oregon, Alaska and Washington.
Dennis served in the US Navy in San Diego before his honorable discharge to the Naval Reserves. He worked for Ingrams Book Company and most recently with the FDA; inspecting beef and chicken. He had lived in Greeley for the past 12 years.
In his younger years, Dennis was an Eagle Scout, later becoming a Scoutmaster. He enjoyed being in the outdoors; fishing and camping and was a member of the Platte River Veterans Fly Fishing Club.
Dennis enjoyed gardening and growing vegetables and oversaw the Pea Patch Garden at Fellowship Church where he was a member.
Survivors include his mother, Wanda Finnell; children and their families, Joshua and wife Jan and Carter Farnsworth, Heather Johnson-King and husband Andrew and Alex and Rennissa King and Justtin Finnell and his sister, Denise “Dee” and husband Micheal Falls.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at Fellowship Church, 2376 47th Ave., Greeley. Inurnment at Williamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR. Friends may leave condolences at adamsoncares.com.
