Phyllis Jean Seelhoff
Phyllis Jean Seelhoff, 90, of Greeley, CO passed away on December 9, 2017 at North Shore Health and Rehab in Loveland, CO.
She was born on May 11, 1927 in rural Burlington, CO, to Leonard and Eunice (Massie) Abbott. On June 3, 1945 in Goodland, KS, Phyllis married Frederick Seelhoff.
Phyllis was a teacher, account management clerk, and payroll clerk for Great Western Sugar, and also worked for Agland Credit Union.
Phyllis was a long-time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She was a strong Christian and enjoyed participating in Bible Studies. She was a devoted volunteer and was named Volunteer of the year at Bonell Good Samaritan. She also volunteered for RSVP, where she helped with many needs, one of her favorites was delivering Meals on Wheels, and she was a member of, and volunteered for many years with Ladies Aid in Roggen, CO.
Phyllis was a family extraordinaire. She may not have been famous to the world but to her family she was. She touched every heart that was lucky enough to be in her presence. Every family event was filled with laughter and joy. A favorite experience of her grandchildren was an early morning phone call of her singing happy birthday.
Phyllis enjoyed square-dancing, cooking and canning, traveling, flower gardening, and fishing with Fred. She enjoyed watching sports and attending sporting events. She loved playing games, especially beating her grandchildren at poker. She loved God, she loved people, and she absolutely loved her family.
She is survived by her children, Karen (Ken) Lockman of Windsor, Terry (Kathy) Seelhoff of Greeley, Marilyn Dollard of Severance, and Denise (Craig) Carlson of Greeley; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters; one brother; and son-in-law, Tim Dollard.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, with a viewing one hour prior at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1800 21st Avenue, Greeley, CO 80631.
