Obituary for
Don Quintana Jr.
Don Quintana, Jr. 69, of Greeley passed away at NCMC in Greeley on August 24, 2017. He was born Donaciano Adelmo Quintana, Jr. on May 2, 1948 to Donaciano Adelmo and Eneria (Mieira) Quintana in Amalia, New Mexico.
He spent his childhood in New Mexico where he received his education. In 1969, he moved to Colorado, later meeting Gloria Rose Nieto. They were married in Laughlin, Nevada in 1997.
Don worked as a heavy equipment operator with the City of Greeley before retiring.
He loved all types of music, playing his guitar, had a very creative mind and enjoyed fabricating car design ideas, especially performance cars. He like to work on cars and build “rat rods”. He loved his Denver Broncos and was very charitable, especially to the poor, elderly and sick and was always looking for ways to help others.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; children, Sharon (Alex) Schwarzenberger, Don (Miranda) Quintana, Vincent (JaeLynn) Quintana; stepchildren, Noreen (Scott) Kelley and Frank (Pamela) Saucedo; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Robert (Santos), Lawrence, Kenneth (Betty), Dennis (Jenny), Clarence, Anthony, Carlos, Henry, Tino (Misti) and Dominic; sisters, Kathy (Tom) Gutierrez, Lorraine and Gina Quintana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Adamson Chapel with a Recitation of the Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 7 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Cremation will follow. Reception will be held at the LaSalle Presbyterian Church, 51 Church Court, LaSalle. Friends may leave condolences at adamsoncares.com.
