Obituary for Pauline "Polly" Foos

Pauline "Polly" Foos
Pauline “Polly” Foos was quietly called home to be with her Savior and loved ones in heaven on August 12, 2017. She was born on July 8, 1919 and lived a full life of 98 years. Born in Hudson, Colorado, she lived on a farm with her parents and brothers before marrying a special man, who was a farmer and dairyman. Her younger years were in the Hudson area where she graduated from Hudson High School in 1936. In 1939, she married Herbert Foos and lived in Hudson and Kuner, before moving back to Hudson in 1958 until Herbert passed in 1979. She moved to Greeley in 1980. She lived happily for many years in her own home and enjoyed the social life around her coffee group, activities at the Senior Center, and her church. Polly spent the last three years of her life at The Bridge Assisted Living in Greeley.
As most farm wives, she helped in the dairy barn and assisted at harvest time. She took great satisfaction in her home, yard, and garden. When the children grew up she could turn her talents in other directions. She enjoyed doing needlework, ceramics, painting, macramé, and writing poetry. Her artistic talent always showed in everything she did. She enjoyed bible studies at her church and volunteering there. She did some travelling, and a highlight of her travels was to Germany on a European trip.
Polly had a quick wit, a good sense of humor, and held high standards for herself. She was industrious, thoughtful, and determined. Polly was very social and loved people. First and foremost, she had a very strong faith in God.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Rees and Janel Marolf; her grandsons, Eric Rees and Chad Rees; her granddaughters, Dr. Angela Marolf and Amy Marolf; great-grandsons Dustin Rees, Evan Rees, and Sam Bryson; great-granddaughter Katie Rees; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Polly is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Foos; parents, Philipp and Susanna Wagner; brothers, Henry Wagner and Rev. William Wagner; and her especially loved granddaughter, Ashly Marolf.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., August 19, 2017, at Gloria Christi Lutheran Church, 1322 31st Ave. in Greeley. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley. Visitation/viewing will be from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017, at Adamson, 2000 47th Ave. in Greeley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Gloria Christi Lutheran Church.
