Obituary for
Patricia A Ford
Patricia was born to Carmen (Rios) and Walter Jones in San Jose, California and spent her childhood in California with her brothers Bill, Bob, and Chuck. It was in California that Pat met and fell in love with her husband Jerry Ford. Pat completed her nursing degree and shortly after she and Jerry gathered their belongings and moved to Colorado. She and Jerry spent their time raising two boys, Michael and Matthew, operating grocery stores throughout Colorado, including Hayden, Delta, Buena Vista, and Cedaredge Colorado, and traveling the world making memories with their family and so many amazing friends.
Pat was best known for her playful personality, her contagious smile and eyes that could light up a room, and her often cunning way of telling it like it was. Her holiday celebrations were beyond compare and she could often be seen cartwheeling her way through birthdays (even in to her 70’s). She has been a source of inspiration and advice to her children, grandchildren, and many friends for so many years, but that reached a new level as she gracefully endured the passing of her husband and son and powerfully fought cancer over the last few years.
Pat was preceded in death by the love of her life Jerry; her son, Michael; her brother, Bill; her mother; her stepmother Lee; and her father. She is survived by her son Matthew; her grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany) Ford and Brianna Ford; her brothers, Bob (Jan) Jones and Chuck (Diane) Ailes, and many wonderful friends. Although we will miss her so much, the void left in the heart of those who loved her will be filled by the amazing memories she left with all of us.
Friends and family are welcome to attend her Mass of Catholic Burial at St. Daniels Catholic Church in Ouray Colorado on Saturday August 5th, 2017 at 10am followed by a graveside service and reception. Thank you to all who have offered prayer and support to Pat over the last several years, it meant the world to her and continues to mean so much to her family.
