Obituary for Dorothy Davisson

Dorothy  Davisson
Dorothy (Wilson) Davisson, 96 of Greeley, CO passed away February 6, 2017 in Greeley.
Dorothy was born to Ralph Emmett Wilson and Edna Goldie Colvin Wilson on May 9, 1920 in Topeka, Kansas. She attended schools in Topeka graduating from Topeka High School in 1938. She graduated from Clark’s Secretarial School and obtained her first job at Capper Publications in 1939.

She married John H. Davisson on November 27th, 1942. Both she and her husband were employed at North American Aviation in Kansas City, Kansas during WWII. At the end of the war, they moved to Denver, Colorado where they were employed at Gates Rubber Company. They had four children: Sue Ellen (Jane Phelps); Jeannette Kathie (Ron Strobel); John Scot (Sally); William Kevin (Lucy).

Dorothy and John lived in Claremont, California for many years. Dorothy retired as administrative assistant for Campus Building and Maintenance for Pomona College in Claremont and upon retirement moved to Grass Valley, California. She did extensive volunteer work in Grass Valley but after taking the training for Ombudsman Services for long term care, was employed for seven years before she and her husband moved to Greeley in 2003. Mr. Davisson passed away in Greeley in 2005. Dorothy moved to Grace Pointe in 2014.

Dorothy is survived by her four children, her sister, Bobbe Benton, eleven grandchildren: Aaron Beilman, Todd Beilman, Christine Chapman, Meighan Davisson (Obrakta), Lena Gonzales, Teresa Perez, Ruben Venegas, Robyn Doughty, Emily Cook, Josh Strobel and Alysia Strobel. Twelve great grandchildren: Ally Beilman, Zackary Beilman, Taylee Beilman, Jayden Beilman, Tristan Beilman, Gavin Wright, Addie Chapman, John Bear Chapman, Lemon Obrakta, Gage Doughty, Austin Doughty and Mattaus Gonzales and a great great grandchild, Harper Doughty and by a niece and nephew Terrye and Steve Benton.

Family services will be held at a later date.
