Obituary for
Martha Keil
Martha Keil, 97, of Greeley, Colorado passed away January 22, 2017. She was born September 21, 1919 to Daniel and Lena (Herbster) Bauer at Arriba, Colorado.
She moved with her family to Berthoud, Colorado where she attended school in Berthoud, Loveland and then Galeton. Martha was confirmed at Hope Reformed Church in Loveland in 1932 and graduated from high school in Timnath in 1937.
On April 23, 1939, Martha was married to Delmar Keil at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Windsor, Colorado.
In 1942, she moved with her husband and family to Monte Vista, Colorado. She raised her family and supported her husband on their farm. Martha began her profession as a bookkeeper in Alamosa, Colorado for Bill Clark Truck Line and then went on to Green and White Oil Company in Monte Vista, Colorado where she worked until they moved to Greeley, Colorado in 1961. She then worked as a bookkeeper for Rapps Inc. and Kahler’s Appliance, retiring in 1981.
Martha was a member of Credit Women International where she served as First Vice President, Assistant Treasurer and Historian.
She is survived by three daughters, Jeanette Adams of Greeley, Mary Ann (Max) Steiner of Greenwood Village, CO and Sherrie (Rod) Eisele of Eagle, ID; two sons Arthur (Suzy) of Littleton, CO and William (Patricia) of Aurora, CO; one brother Daniel (Lois) of Loveland, CO, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held from 12’noon to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Adamson Chapel followed by service at 1:00 p.m. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. Reception to be held at the Adamson Reception Center.
