Elizabeth A. Firestien
Elizabeth Ann (Purvis) Firestien, 89, of Missoula, MT went home to be with her Lord and Savior November 17, 2016 at Bee Hive Homes in Missoula.
Elizabeth was born at home December 3, 1926 in Galeton, CO. She lived most of her life in Colorado before moving to Montana in 2005 to be near her immediate family.
Although Elizabeth’s goal to celebrate her 90th birthday was not realized, she took great pride in her long life. Elizabeth was married August 9, 1955 to Walter Gerald Perry. They had one child, Theresa (Perry) Johnson and were divorced in 1961. On January 16th 1967, she married David Leo Firestien in Greeley, Colorado. They were married until his death in 1999.
Elizabeth worked for years as a licensed practical nurse caring lovingly for many people.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Theresa Ann Johnson of Missoula, MT; granddaughter Jennifer Elizabeth Harmon and great granddaughter Emma Elizabeth Harmon of Mesa, AZ., sister Sadie Mae (Purvis) Schraeder of Windsor, CO and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Leo Firestien, her parents, Franklin Leslie Purvis and Mary Maude (Ward) Purvis. Brothers: William Monroe (Bud) Purvis, Merle Leslie Purvis, Charles Franklin Purvis, Robert Leslie Purvis, LD (Sonny) Purvis and an unnamed baby brother who died at birth. Sisters: Delilah Viola (Purvis) Nicks, Dorothy Ruth (Purvis) Miller, Mary Jane (Purvis) Richmond
A celebration of life gathering will be planned for spring or summer of 2017 in Colorado.
