Saved Vacations

I have been trying to figure out how to describe Carol, I don't have the accurate words to do that.  She had the softest heart but let someone not treat her patients, friends or family well, the strong side of her really came forward.  She would protect them like a mother lion protects her cubs, always the hospice nurse.

What kind of a friend was she?  There were two times that Carol saved our vacations by jumping in and handling health situations with our parents so that we did not have to turn around and come home.  This included going to the ER, talking to the doctors, reporting to us, visiting them in the hospital and them taking them home.  She helped me get through my mother's cancer and death.

Carol was always more concerned about you than she was herself.

There were many fun times, family holdays spent together, annual trips to St Nicks that ended at the Cheesecake factory and poor Carol trying to teach me to knit.  Now that took a special amount of patience!

We shared the happy and sad, the good and the bad, it will be very hard without my "sister" at heart.
