Derek Hughes, 32, of Evans, CO passed away at Pathways Hospice in Loveland, CO on September 20, 2018.
He was born on May 8, 1986 in Alamosa, CO to Amy Sue (Hughes) Patterson, who raised him until Derek was a teenager and then Eddie Patterson came into his life. Derek grew up in the San Luis Valley, Colorado Springs, and Thornton. He graduated from Skyview High School in Thornton and attended Everest Community College.
Derek worked for Baker-Hughes in the oil field.
Derek was the biggest Notre Dame football fan, every Saturday in the fall was devoted to Notre Dame. He loved his children, riding his crotch rocket, and supporting the POW-MIA ride with his uncle every year. Derek was a devout family man and enjoyed watching movies and playing soccer.
Derek is survived by his wife, Amanda Bauman of Evans; children, Landen Hughes, Alexis Bauman, and Brenden Bauman; sisters, Dana Hughes (Robbie Kent) of Kersey, CO, Ashley Patterson of LaSalle, CO, and Rebecca (Matt) Black of Brighton, CO; brothers, Jeffrey LaTulip (Jessica Heid) of Greeley, CO, and Eddie (Courtney) Patterson of Brighton; parents, Eddie and Amy Sue Patterson; grandparents, Ron and Vi Hughes of Tucson, AZ; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Ron Hughes, Jr.
A Life Celebration Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Adamson Life Celebration Home.
