Obituary for Michael Anthony Mantelli

Michael Anthony Mantelli, 75, of Greeley, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at home surrounded by his wife and children. Michael was born June 13, 1945 in Trinidad, Colorado to Charles and Geneva (Vallejos) Mantelli. He grew up in Trinidad and graduated from Trinidad High School in 1963. He served in the Air Force from 1966 until 1971 and was in Vietnam from August 10, 1968 – August 11, 1969. Michael graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1976.
On July 20, 1968 he married Lucille Micheli in Greeley. Michael worked for Eastman Kodak from 1971 until 1999 when he retired. He loved golf, sand painting, shooting, hunting and camping. He coached his son’s football and soccer teams and enjoyed watching and helping his son’s motor cross racing. He had been a member of the Greeley Country Club for 43 years and served on the Board of Directors, including President of the Board. He was a member of the Elks Club, served on the boards for the American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball and the American Heart Association.
Mike’s “happy place” was at home when his children and grandchildren visited. Family was the most important thing to him and his treasured every moment spent with them.
Michael is survived by his wife Lucille Mantelli of Greeley; children, Erica Mantelli Arndt and husband Jason of Aurora and David Michael Mantelli and wife Elsa of Severance; his grandchildren, Haley, Sam, Olivia, and Katie Arndt and Juliana and Karstyn Mantelli; his brother William Mantelli of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Life Celebration will be held at 2:00p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Adamson. Inurnment Fort Logan National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 W. 47th Ave., Greeley, Colorado 80634.
