Obituary for Charles Cunliffe
Charles “Chuck” Andrew Cunliffe Jr., of Greeley, passed away peacefully just after midnight March 14, 2019, at the age of 70.
Chuck was born November 10, 1948 in Normal, Illinois to Charles and Elizabeth (Hardesty) Cunliffe. He attended Illinois State University where he met his future wife, Peggy (Bell) on the second day of classes. He transferred to Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln, Illinois. Eventually he obtained an Associate’s Degree at Aims Community College.
Chuck and Peggy were married in 1969 and sent by VISTA to Greeley, Colorado. Chuck held the position of Planning and Zoning Director of Weld County for 21 years. He then worked as Office Manager for Coca- Cola Enterprises for 17 years. After retiring, Chuck enjoyed driving a bus part-time for the Greeley-Evans Transit. Chuck stated, “The hardest and the most rewarding job, is being a husband and father.”
Chuck had many unique hobbies and interests including collecting matchbook covers, Coca-Cola memorabilia, postcards, Steak-n-Shake gift cards, and decks of playing cards. He also enjoyed traveling to any place with a beach or roller coaster. His children would join him on roller coaster riding trips where his craft of yodeling would be heard cruising down coaster hills and through tunnels. Chuck enjoyed Rockies games and NASCAR— attending several races in Kansas City and Phoenix with his son and daughter. He also enjoyed shopping at garage sales on a budget of .25 cents.
Chuck is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Peggy. Daughters, Aubrey (Eric) Brantner, Alyssa (Mark) Hirsch, Autumn (Matt) Moerland, and son Austin (Michelle) Cunliffe. Grandchildren, Harlei (Ean), Khyler, Kelton, Kanyon, Hosana, Khyson, Hadasa, Harper, Marshall, and Paisley. Great-grandchildren, Brantley, Oriannah, Omelia, and Snow. Sisters Cathie (Brenda), Patty (Dan), and brother Art (Crisel). As well as, life-long friend Brad Mitchell, co-founder of the Cunliffe Fun Fairs.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth.

Chuck will be remembered for his love for Jesus and family, and his quiet, kind and generous spirit.
Services and reception will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on March 22, 2019 at 11:00am, burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2:00pm.
