Obituary for John Warrender

John D. Warrender, 83, of Greeley passed away after a long, hard battle with Parkinson’s on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Pathways Hospice in Loveland. He was born August 29, 1935 in Cherokee, Iowa to Delgarno and Lois (Hind) Warrender.
John graduated from Quimby High School in Quimby, Iowa and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-58.
On October 5, 1978 he married Nancy M. Hefti in Las Vegas, NV.
John worked as a corporate pilot for Monfort and then the Colorado Rockies. He was also a flight instructor for 50 plus years and finished his career with Cervi Cattle Company.
Some of his hobbies include traveling, motor homing, radio control airplanes, Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and time with family.
John was a member of a number of organizations including the Aircraft Owners Pilot Association for 50 plus years, Love Air, Aims Aviation Advisory Board and Family Motor Coach Association.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Greeley, children; Doreen Warrender of Evans, Dave (Vicki) Warrender of Johnstown, Dan (Sally) Warrender of Grand Island, NE, Stacy (Mark) Guerrero of Greeley, Scott (Rachael) Monasmith of Pacific, MO; 10 grandchildren; Karli Warrender of Houston, TX, Kyle Warrender of Johnstown, Brittani (Daniel) Burks of Colorado Springs, Tiffani (Curtis) Burke of Evans, Kati Guerrero of Greeley, Ashley (Gus) Schlottach of Owensville, MO, Christopher Monasmith of Springfield, MO, Nicholas, Jonathon and Laura Monasmith all of Pacific, MO; brothers Jim (Ethel) Warrender of Cicero, IN and Jerry (Marty) Warrender of Washta, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and half-brother, Alec Warrender and half-sister, Mae Murdock.
Life Celebration Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 at the First Congregational Church, 2101 16th Street, Greeley with a luncheon following. Inurnment to be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
