Obituary for Albert Dean ""Dean"" Davis

Dean Davis, 84, of Greeley passed away at his home on Friday, October 5, 2018. He was born July 3, 1934 in Greeley to Ralph Emerson and Maude (Chapman) Davis.

He graduated from Kersey High School in 1952. He married Phyllis Koehler in March 1955 in Greeley.

Dean worked for Monfort and then Spencer Foods for 9 years in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota before moving back to Colorado. He spent the next 20 years with Monfort, retiring and starting his own company, Pingree Design, designing meat plants. Dean partnered with Ed Brems for 15 years in this venture. In 2006, they were awarded the National Cattle Association Award for their work in the beef industry during 2005.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. They were past members of the Greeley Country Club and are members of the Thunderbird Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California where they spent their winters for the past 25 years.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; three daughters, Debra Davis (Bob Weber), Sherrie (Ed) Brems and Linda (John) Hulse; six grandchildren; Tanner (Cora) Hulse, Sydney Hulse, Elissa and Kira Davis-Weber, Alex and Baylee Brems.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Elwood Davis, Imogene Dent and Charlotte Crook.
