Obituary for Charles Burgess

Charles W. Burgess, 86, of Greeley, Colorado, formerly of Toccoa, Georgia, passed away on September 28, 2018 in Greeley, Colorado. He was born to Jones and Jessie (Adams) Burgess on August 2, 1932 in Toccoa, Georgia.

Charles loved road trips and traveling. He would travel from Georgia to Colorado to visit family often and enjoyed driving across country. He enjoyed cooking, especially healthy food, and his signature meal was Brunswick Stew.
He was involved in ministry and served as a Minister in Vandalia, Ohio at First Baptist Church for many years. He later became a licensed Realtor in Marietta, Georgia and truly enjoyed his career.

Charles is survived by his children, Patti Burgess (Joe Joyner) of Greeley, CO, Chuck (Donna) Burgess of Taylors, SC, Mike (Ina) Burgess of Lafayette, CO; grandchildren, Drew (Alex) Burgess, Taylor (John) Hyatt, Henry Joyner and Ren Joyner; siblings, Joe (Gwen) Burgess, Marvin (Lydia) Burgess, Ken (Sarah) Burgess and Joyce (Rodney) Moore.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation on Charles’ behalf to the Life Care Center, 4800 25th St. of Greeley, Colorado 80634, where he was being cared for. The family appreciated the passion and help they rendered to Charles while he was in their care.
