Obituary for Lisa Marie Archibeque

Print
Lisa Marie Archibeque passed away on September 20, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Lisa was born on October 23, 1962 to Charles and Laura (Montoya) Archibeque. She was the third child of seven children and was the artistic and musical guide of the family. Music was the center of Lisa’s life. She loved to sing and started singing at a very young age at St Peter’s Catholic Church. Because of her beautiful voice and her guitar playing talent, she was asked to perform at numerous weddings, funerals and other occasions.
Lisa’s love of music led her on the path to her true love Robert Soares. Lisa met Bob at a local radio station and they combined their musical talents to enchant all those who would listen. Their love story began in Greeley and continued in Hawaii where Bob was born and raised. They lived on Maui for 18 years and created a beautiful life surrounded by loving friends, family and music.
Lisa graduated from University High School in 1981 and was very active in theater and music during high school. At the age of 16, she was given the opportunity to record her own music. When she was 17, she won the local Greeley Stars of Tomorrow competition because of her angelic voice.
Lisa was a licensed manicurist and owned her own business, first in Greeley and then on Maui. She was excellent in her trade and creative as well. She had an eye for beauty, color and art. She loved creating beautiful nails, décor, floral arrangements and event planning. Because of Lisa’s unique thinking and talents, she chose to have careers in several different areas. Her last place of employment was in the Oil & Gas Industry with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.
Lisa did not have any children of her own, but she had many nieces and nephews and two Godchildren whom she considered her own. She had a different bond with each and every one of her nieces and nephews and showered them with her love, kindness and knowledge. She was that special aunt who spoiled them and taught them life lessons. She also had her beloved dog, Tyson the boxer, who was her longtime companion and brought her much happiness.
Lisa is survived by her mother Laura Archibeque, sisters Carla (Tony) Esquibel, Lori (Jerry) Trujillo, Karen (Louie) Esquibel, Julee (Joe) Martinez, Nickie Archibeque (Tony Pena) and sister-in-law Erma Archibeque. Nieces & Nephews, Jessica (Kevin) Martinac, Lucas Trujillo, Valyne Esquibel (Kamren Kamp), Erika Esquibel (Ben Pruitt), Kahla Esquibel (Joseph Ornelas), Brittni Hernandez (Rigo Rangel), Mathew Esquibel (Emily Dempsey), Hope Archibeque, Anastacia Archibeque, Nathaniel Martinez, Nicolas Martinez & Jaydyn Esquibel. Great nieces & nephews; Zayden Gonzales, Giana & Jeremiah Martinac, Jordan, Aubriana & Alivia Trujillo, Mathew Francis Esquibel, Brexleigh Kamp, Emma Dempsey, Monica Ornelas & Kallai Kamp; Special family member, friend and Lisa’s wonderful caregiver Mary Moreno.
Lisa is also survived by her late husband’s family, the Soares family throughout Fort Collins, Kauai & Hawaii. The Soares family loved Lisa like their own sister, aunt & friend. Brother-in-laws Calvin (Leona) and Jared (Wanda) Soares were with Lisa and her family during her final days.
Lisa is preceded in death by her husband Robert Soares, her father Charles Archibeque, her brother C.J. Archibeque, her nephew Erik Esquibel.
Lisa’s Life Celebration will be held on Friday September 28, 2018 at the Greeley Country Club at 11:00 a.m. To celebrate Lisa and her wonderful spirit, feel free to wear original Leopard print clothing or accessories to honor her love for the design.
Lisa will be cremated and was very in touch with her spirituality and nature. Lisa will eventually be planted into a tree and will live on, flowing freely, through the wind like she did in this world. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lisa Archibeque memorial fund through Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
