Marjory Elizabeth (Shupe) Yost passed on July 11, 2018 at the age of 88 in Greeley, CO. She was born on September 17, 1929 in Macomb, IL to Clyde and Edith (Randolph) Shupe.
Marjory and the family moved to Greeley around 1933. She attended Greeley High School in 1945. Later that year she moved to McPherson, KS to finish high school and attend Central Junior College where she met Howard Yost. On September 21, 1947 she married Howard at the First Methodist Church in Greeley, which was performed by EM Yost Howard’s father.
Marjory invested herself in her faith, her husband and her kids. In 1959 she was crowned Mrs. Colorado. A title that defined her to a tee.
The “Shupe” in mom was always a big part of her DNA. She never stopped referencing that…. “That’s the Shupe in me”…. weather talking about her stubbornness, focus, ambition, integrity, character, and or work ethics.
Besides her dedication to her family, she also managed the Highland Hills Beauty Academy, owned and operated the Bible Book Store, and then entered Real Estate first as an Associate with Scott Realty, then with Sears Realty, and then as a Broker Associate and Partner in the Group Realty. She also partnered with Howard in running H&M Leasing. She excelled in Real Estate in Greeley for 35 years or so. She was top notch, often leading the firms she was associated with in sales. She served her clients beyond expectations and they became loyal clients for life.
Marjory is survived by her children, Bob (Karen) Yost, Cheryl (John) Brubaker & Carol Kimbell, daughter in-law Barbara Yost, 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild!
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Howard who passed away June20th, son Gary, daughter in-law Sue Nesheim Yost, son in- law Ben Kimbell, her parents, brothers Glen, Gerald, and Bill Shupe, and her sister Marguerite Ruyle.
A combined Memorial Celebration for Marjory and Howard will be held August 17, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Generations Church, 3600 W 22nd St, in Greeley. Inurnment will be held prior at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 9:00 AM
