Maria "Lala" Rivera Rodriguez
Maria Ladislada “Lala” Rivera de Rodriguez passed away surrounded by family on May 30, 2018. Lala was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was adored by her family, friends and all those who knew her for her warm spirt, generosity and energy. As the matriarch, she brought her large family together and will be remembered as a great cook who spent her entire life caring for others and creating fond memories.
Lala loved to travel and enjoyed nothing more than hopping in a car or bus to visit family in Mexico and throughout the United States. Many times she would depart to her next destination before her family knew where she was heading. Her grandchildren often accompanied her on travels and she would take many of them to Mexico to spend their summer vacations.
Lala is preceded in death by the love of her life, whom she met at the age of 14 and later became her husband, Salvador Rodriguez, and her son, Ruben Rodriguez. She is survived by 10 children, 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren who will always remember her as a woman who gave amazing hugs.
Visitation will be from 5-7p.m. Sunday June 3, 2018 at Adamson Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00a.m. Monday June 4, 2018 at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 1900 AA Street. Interment to follow at Mizpah Cemetery in Platteville, CO.
