Condolence From: Mary Jean "MJ" Pierson
Condolence: I can't believe I've known Sylvia and the family for almost 40 years. The kids were very young when we met and what I admired most was Sylvia's determination. I used to call her "tiger mom" before that was a thing. She was always fierce about what was right and she always wanted the best for her kids. I watched her children grow into wonderful adults. I remember when she met George and how in love they were. I remember many a beautiful day at George's mom's place in Indiana.

She introduced me to so many things, the Swiss club, Raclette, good fondue, (although she never did get me up on skis).
Sylvia could do almost anything and if she didn't know how to do it she would learn. She baked a beautiful seven layer almond torte for my wedding as a present. She learned how to process marble for her own window sills and they stained the beams in their cathedral beam ceiling. She had an indomitable spirit.

After they moved to Colorado they were more distant friends but we kept in touch. It was wonderful spending a few days at their home in Marble and at Audrey's beautiful wedding. My sons, Ian and Sean, loved Sylvia and George as an aunt an uncle. They talk about playing in the snow in June on top of the mountains. They loved sleeping out on the porch at the beautiful house in Marble.

Sylvia will be greatly missed. I too know she is happy to be with Norris. All my love and condolences to Audrey, Nicole, the grandkids and George.

Love Always,

Condolence: We got to know Sylvia through our church in Marble. We enjoyed Sylvia's stories of growing up in Switzerland. She was a true inspiration for her legacy and love for skiing and the mountains. I am sure she is skiing the most beautiful mountains in heaven now. Know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Condolence: Sylvia was a vital part of our Marble Community Church as well as the Marble community as a whole. She was at church every Sunday while she was able and she loved singing in the choir; she especially loved being a part of our Christmas Eve services. Sylvia and George were also at all the Marble Charter School fundraisers and presentation. Jon and I had our first real Swiss fondue at their home. What a treat! We have many memories of Sylvia that have enriched our lives. May God bless all of you as you grieve and as you remember. All our love and prayers are with you.

Condolence: Back in the 80's I had the wonderful opportunity to be an exchange student and live with Sylvia, George, Audrey, Nicole and Norris. Sylvia was a force of nature. She was strong minded and witty and had a contagious laughter. She helped me when I was learning to speak English. She taught me how to ski. She even taught me how to use a dishwasher. She was strict but also funny. I have many fond memories from my days back in Indiana and also from the times we spent together here in Colorado. I like to think of her laughing after telling someone to do/or not to do something ;) She must be happy now with Norris by her side. My deepest condolences to George, Audrey (& Jim and Kalista), Nicole (& Alex and Cody), sending you all my love. xo, t.
